Our founder went to rescue this starving Chinese Rural Dog, The dog was nothing more than a walking skeleton! With so many people in the city, no one took the time to feed him a mouthful of food every day.
Du put the dog in her car where he never took his eyes off her, seemingly grateful for her help, and took him to the Pet Hospital where Doctor Li immediately came outside to meet her to look at the dog. He had serious anemia and severe dehydration. Doctor Li told Du that the dog needed a blood transfusion is he were to have any chance of surviving. Du rushed to the shelter to get a healthy dog to donate blood. Golden Retriever, Mao Mao was the donor who gave 300ml of blood to help his fellow canine.
Test results showed coccidiosis, an intestinal tract infection. Dogs get this infection by swallowing soil that contains the organisms or by eating other substances in the environment that may contain dog feces. This poor dog was so hungry that he had been eating anything and everything to curb his hunger.
Now, we have to hope he will survive this.
People always ask Du why she rescues dogs when there are poor people who need help.
Du says: "People have hands and feet to earn money to support themselves, and people have human rights. Poor people have the Civil Affairs Bureau of the state in charge to help them but dogs do not have any rights or laws to protect them and these humans continue to maim them so I want to save these poor dogs"
