Bo Ai Animal Protection Centre Of Guangyuan
We received a call from workers at a factory about a stray dog who didn't look well.
Volunteers drove to the scene and found a thin Samoyed who looked resigned to stay there for the night. When he saw the volunteers, he wagged his tail but was slow to approach them. Our volunteer offered him a ham sausage he had with him, but the dog didn't seem to have the energy to eat it.
Both of his eyes were sunken and full of dried discharge, his nose was dripping watery discharge and he was twitching. His once beautiful, soft, pure white fur was dirty, matted and smelly.
The volunteers brought him back to our founder, Du Yufeng's home where she took him to the quarantine room and tested him for Canine Distemper Virus and although the test was negative this did not mean he was free of the disease.
Despite intensive care over the next week, he grew steadily weaker and he died in his sleep. He was given a traditional Buddhist funeral.
This poor boy probably had a home some time in his past. He was likely abandoned when this horrible disease took hold, his owners unwilling to take him to a vet.
There are so many abandonments,
so many abused,
so many dying,
so many to rescue.
We cannot continue to do this without your help.
With no government funding, we rely on kind people like you to donate towards veterinary medicines and treatments. You can join our Emergency Rescue Response by choosing a small monthly amount; helping us to help them.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
