Last night one of the workers at the shelter called our founder Du Yufeng to tell her that this little puppy was with him. He told her that as he was going to lock the front door he heard whimpering and barking and as he opened the door, she came in and wandered up the corridor.
Someone had abandoned her at night, in the pitch black.
Confused and scared, she could not have put up a fight if she was faced with snakes and other predators.
This makes us just so angry!!
Du took the puppy home and comforted her but she would not look at anyone, trying to bury herself in Du's underarm.
Today she did much better. We estimate her to be around 8 weeks old. Du tried her with some chopped chicken but she would not eat. For now she is being comforted with milk substitute and Du is letting her.
Once she is settled in the next few days she will try her again with solid food because she should be weaned by now.
With the recent influx of puppies she will not be short of playmates when she is ready to join in.
All of the puppies will eventually be available for adoption. If you are interested in one of them, or any of our dogs, click here for further information.
