Bo Ai Animal Protection Centre Of Guangyuan
Our founder, Du Yufeng, received an urgent call from the owner of a noodle restaurant who asked her to rescue a dog who was being harassed.
An old woman who had been walking past the restaurant had seen this stray dog who was lying outside. The old woman tried to push the dog away, calling him nasty names and shouting.
The dog stayed where he was so the woman picked up a brick and threw it hard at the dog's head causing it to bleed.
The restaurant owner shouted at her: "The dog was just lying there and didn't move, not harming anyone. Why did you hit him?"
"It's a big dog, what if it bit me?!" the old woman yelled back.
Du brought the dog back to our shelter where his wound was tended to, he was vaccinated and then given a meal to fill his hungry belly. His coat is full of knots and dirt but he is very gentle and trusting despite what happened to him.
This dog has been neglected for some time. He isn't a young dog but his age and size mean he will likely stay in our shelter for the rest of his life. He deserves a warm fireplace where he can dream happy dreams, a soft, cosy bed to support his tired body and this means an overseas adoption is probably his only chance to live his twilight years in a forever home.
