50 Dogs Rescued From Slaughter

Volunteers in Dazhou contacted our founder Du Yufeng when they found a farm where dogs were being kept.
While the volunteers waited for the local Department of Agriculture
to arrive, they were obstructed as the driver and his helpers loaded cages full of dogs on to a truck.
As the officials arrived, the driver fled the scene in the truck full of dogs. The remaining 50 dogs that the dealer didn't have time to load on to the truck will be handed over to us.
These extra 50 dogs from Dazhou, like the dogs from Guang'an, will need checkups, vaccinations,flea and tick treatments and worming.
We hate to keep asking but we need help to help them.

UPDATE:
The Department of Agriculture in Dazhou eventually allowed us to transfer the 50 dogs from the dog meat trader's cages to our own cages.
After being loaded on to a truck, the volunteers made their way to our shelter in Guangyuan.

UPDATE:
We have been busy vaccinating and testing the 50 dogs, rescued from the dog dealer's place in Dazhou, for Canine Distemper.
Tests for Canine Parvovirus have also been done.
Some of the traumatised dogs had to be restrained by a pole for everyone's safety but we hope in time they will learn to trust humans again. We don't blame them for being aggressive or scared.

Buying medicines to administer herself means we don't have to run up huge bills at the vet surgery but vet bills are also paid with your donations.
