Education Event Leads To Dog Meat Shop Closure

Du and some of our volunteers were staging an education event at a local market, giving out leaflets and explaining the danger to the eater's health from eating dog and cat meat. 
They pasted posters on walls and on Du's car and tied banners to trees to attract people to the event.

Events like these are always well received by young and old people. There are many who wish for the dog and cat meat trade to end and when they receive information from us they can then go and tell others.

This event was a victory in 2 ways. One was the actual event and how well it was received but we also managed, with the help of government officials, to close down a butcher's stall selling dog meat. Although dogs had already been killed, we were able to save 2 live dogs. You can see more here.

There are no animal protection laws in China so we must do all we can to educate people about the dog and cat meat trade. You can help us stage more events by donating below.
