Our founder Du Yufeng has not been to Yulin Dog Meat Festival this year on doctor's orders after she and other activists were attacked by dog meat traffickers at the end of May and Du was hospitalised. See here for more. It is the first time that Du has missed going to Yulin since her initial visit in 2013 but she is still being reported about around the world and although there are some Chinese activists who don't support the way she does things (they do not like that she talks to the media, they think she wants fame) she will continue to give interviews to show the world what is happening. We have been contacted by a few reporters over the last couple of weeks. Some of them, reporters for Apple Daily in Hong Kong, visited us and were shown around the shelter, meeting some of the furry residents. Ba Tong, an Old English Sheepdog at our shelter, showed the reporters around with a camera strapped to his back. Ba Tong was abandoned in 2010. His owner told us that he had been ill for 7 months and could no longer keep him so he has lived at our shelter ever since. As well as the beautiful girls from the Apple Daily uplifting her spirits, your many messages of support and get well wishes have made Du smile and want to carry on the fight so thank you!
