Mia is settling in to her new home and country really well. She enjoys lovely food; kibble, scrambled egg (she loves eggs from her time at the shelter), green beans and pumpkin twice a day. She also gets a fish oil tablet once a day and a herbal supplement to help with the regrowth of her golden coat. She also has another herbal support for her teeth. She sits like a good girl to wait for her meals. She is also learning leash training. Mia's new mommy, Becky, is very busy and heavily involved in the charity who rescued Mia, Rescue A Golden Of Arizona. Sometimes work has to come first so here are Maddie & Mia, with Becky in her office, snoozing.

Mia's big sister, Maddie, has been teaching her to chase lizards in their yard. The lizards come to no harm since they are small and very fast but it keeps the girls entertained. It's great to see Mia, as always, not letting her disability get in the way of her enjoying life. Mao Niu has a new name! She is now called Mia.
Mia is having acupuncture with her new holistic vet. She is having acupuncture once a month for her overall well-being as well as laser treatment. Becky is working with an orthotics specialist in southern Arizona to see if a brace can be designed to help Mia use her left front leg. Mia will also be sterilized soon. |
