Jyn's foster family have decided to keep her and adopt her! We are really very happy and we know she will have a great forever home for the rest of her life. She also has a new name! ~ Star. Beautiful name for a beautiful girl.
Star found the toy box as soon as she arrived at Susan's house. She loves to play and has plenty of toys to chew on. She also has a new dog sister, a Golden Retriever called Dakota and a cat sister, Princess.

Goldens Without Borders and Jyn's adopter, Rose, have decided that the best thing for Jyn is to be in a home where someone is in most of the time. One of our volunteers has spoken with Sheila, founder of the organization, about this and we all agree that for Jyn to be happy and not stressed, she needs to be moved. She is now in a foster home with a retired couple with a view to it being her forever home. We have our fingers crossed!
Jyn made herself at home and took a nap on the sofa. Foster mom Susan sent this photo: Rose took Jyn to meet Kang Kang and her adopter Sheila, the founder of Goldens Without Borders, at the dog friendly restaurant, Lazy Dog, Jyn and Kang Kang had a great time, playing and catching up. We loved seeing the videos of them enjoying themselves and remembering each other. Although they were separated at the airport we know it was lovely for them too, to be reunited and we hope they will carry on seeing each other every now and again for the rest of their American lives. While at the shelter, Jyn had limited access to toys because she had to share what there was with the other 900 dogs so to have toys of her own is a major thing for her. We are so happy to see her enjoying being so loved and spoiled. Rose told us that she bought Jyn and Chanel a whole box of new toys. Jyn is so happy which makes us happy too!
Jyn is learning how to walk on a leash and enjoy walks with her sister Chanel and is doing really well. She loves to explore the new sights and smells in her new country and we enjoy seeing these photos of her. Rose sent us some videos of all of them going for a hike at Red Rock. The creeks are flowing and the place is absolutely beautiful! We are so happy that Jyn has access to these places and can learn to enjoy being a part of her new family on days out like this one. Rose hopes that Jyn will show interest in learning to swim soon. Jyn is doing really well in her new home. She is settling in and getting used to the new sounds, sights and smells. Rose found Jyn curled up asleep next to her fur sister Chanel. Such happy news and a beautiful photo!
Jin Niu means Golden Girl in Chinese. Rose has kept the Golden part of the name but has changed the spelling to Jyn to honor her love of Disney and Star Wars. Jyn has a beautiful name tag to show off her new name.
While Rose was at work, her friends looked after Jin Niu. Their own dogs welcomed Jin Niu who loved playing with black Golden Doodle Dale who is not yet 1 year old so he had lots of playtime for Jin Niu. She also met Chip the Maltese Terrier. Jin Niu is settling in well and has made a place for herself on the bed. She is also getting used to her big sister, Chanel, Rose's 7 years old Golden Retriever and even ate one of Chanel's Greenies so she is definitely making herself at home. We look forward to updating more about her new life in Las Vegas soon. The long and constant flights from China to America has finally come to an end and Jin Niu has met her adopter, Rose, for the first time. As you can see from the photos the meeting went well and it looks like love at first sight! Jin Niu has an appointment with the groomer to pamper her and get her skin and fur nourished and moisturized after the flights so she will feel a lot better and then she can begin to settle in to her new home! |
