Da Huang has been at the shelter for a few years now after was rescued from a butcher's stall. It took a while for her to settle in at Bo Ai because what she had seen and heard at the slaughterhouse made her, understandably, scared and timid of strangers but she eventually began to trust and now she is a very happy dog who loves attention, playing with and being stroked by everyone at the shelter. She regularly joins us on education events and protests against the dog meat trade and everyone who comes to the events are bowled over by her kindness.
Unfortunately because of Da Huang's size, she has had many enquiries about adopting her but none have progressed because of her size. The price of flights for larger dogs is obviously more expensive for the adopter to pay so Da Huang always misses her chance of a new home overseas. We would love for someone who could afford the flight cost to offer her a second chance. She really deserves it and will reward you tenfold with her love.
