Stray & pet dogs have been killed in various cities in China after a 3 year old girl was attacked by a Rottweiler (read about it on our partner's page here) but now, it has moved closer to home. Dashi Town officials in our own Guangyuan City took the decision to round up stray dogs with the intention of killing them after a woman was bitten by an injured Golden Retriever. Our founder, Du Yufeng, struck a deal with the officials that they would bring the dogs to our shelter.
But ... winter is here and it rains almost constantly in Guangyuan in this season. These dogs will have to join other rescues by sleeping out in the open in the pouring rain. At the moment, the dogs are sleeping on the steps under the eaves but they are wet and cold. There is no chance to dry off before the next rains arrive and they are back to being soaked again. We urgently need your help to buy at least 30 large kennels so that 3 or 4 of the dogs can get in to one kennel and stay warm and dry. Each XL kennel costs 618 Yuan which means we need to raise at least 18,540 Yuan! (approximately US$2600, GBP£2070, €2300). If you can help even a little, we would really appreciate it. Help give a dog in China a warm shelter this winter. Thank you on behalf of all the furry kids at Bo Ai Animal Protection Centre of Guangyuan. |
