At the end of January a visitor came to Guangyuan to see our shelter, dogs and our founder, Du Yufeng. Mr Andreas Morlok, founder of marine mammal protection organisation, ProWal, contacted us explaining that they had chosen our organisation to support. Andreas and his organisation raised donations so that he could help us by buying things for the dogs when he arrived in Guangyuan. Du met him at the hotel he was staying at and they agreed to meet the day after so that Andreas could look around. Dr Zhong from Huai Ren Pet Hospital in Chengdu was also visiting the shelter so offered to translate for Andreas. On this visit, Andreas and ProWal donated a total of 12,500 Chinese Yuan! (Approx US$1815). Some of the money bought: 2000 pounds of rice, 10 x 20kg bags of dog food, 8 x small cages 1 x large cage 8 x thick cotton pads 10 x traction ropes. The rest of the money, 6000 Yuan, was paid off an emergency bill at the vet hospital. We are very grateful to Andreas for reaching out and wanting to help and for his supporters for donating money to buy the things we did.. There is another visit planned in a few months and we hope this will be the beginning of a long friendship. Partners for the animals! Thank you to Andreas and the members of ProWal for your donations and support!
